We made it! For our Easter vacation we packed up the car with the dogs in the travel crate and drove from the UK to Austria. The puppies were absolutely wonderful - they didn't seem to mind being in the crate for such a long time and didn't make a sound. Boy were they happy once we arrived - they couldn't get enough playtime in the snow.

We certainly had our comic relief with the red noses the kids bought at school (for anybody not familiar with Comic Relief  or 'Red Nose Day' - it's a UK based charity founded by two comedians to erase poverty). They tried to put them on Layla and Lucy for fun. But the puppies had something else in mind entirely and tried to chew them off. 

I'm happy to report they are both clean (well, maybe the occational accident) and they walk on the leash, come when called (most of the time) and follow simple commands. They now respectively weigh 10kg (22lbs) and 11kg (24lbs), Lucy being taller and heavier than Layla. We'll soon drive to Austria to introduce them to the rest of the family.
